What does Job 36:17 mean?
Elihu is confronting Job here, suggesting that Job has become so consumed by arguing his own righteousness that he's actually trapped in the very attitudes he's condemning. When Elihu says Job is "full of the judgment of the wicked," he means Job has taken on a hard, condemning posture, judging God and others around him rather than seeking understanding. The second sentence delivers the weight of his point: that this stance of harsh judgment has become like a snare that catches Job himself, pulling him deeper into his suffering rather than toward healing. This moment in Job's conversation with his friend reflects something many of us recognize in hard seasons, when defending ourselves or our pain can accidentally harden our hearts.
