What does Job 35:5 mean?
Elihu is inviting Job to step back from his immediate pain and gain perspective by contemplating the vastness of creation. When we're overwhelmed by suffering, it's easy to feel like our struggles are the center of the universe, but looking up at the immense sky reminds us that we're part of something far larger than ourselves. This shift in perspective isn't meant to minimize Job's real anguish, but rather to suggest that God's greatness and purposes extend beyond what we can see from our limited vantage point. Sometimes just acknowledging how small we are can be oddly comforting, because it means our problems aren't too big for God to handle, even when they feel too big for us.
