What does Job 32:5 mean?
Elihu has been listening silently while Job's three friends tried to comfort him, but their explanations for his suffering haven't satisfied anyone, least of all Job himself. When Elihu realizes that none of them have anything left to say, he becomes angry, convinced that he has insights they've missed. This moment captures something very human: the frustration of watching a conversation go nowhere, mixed with the pride of believing you have the answer others have overlooked. His anger sets up his long speech that follows, where he'll attempt to do what the others couldn't. It's worth noticing that sometimes our strongest convictions can be driven partly by indignation rather than wisdom.
