What does Job 32:13 mean?
Elihu, the youngest speaker in Job's conversation, is warning the other friends against claiming they've figured everything out. He's cautioning them against the pride of thinking they have all the answers to Job's suffering, as if God alone could correct Job rather than admitting their own arguments might be incomplete or wrong. This cuts to something many of us recognize: when we're convinced we understand someone's pain or why God allowed their struggle, we can become defensive and dismissive rather than humble. Elihu is essentially saying that assuming "only God could prove us wrong" is a way of protecting ourselves from honest listening, and that's dangerous.
