What does Job 3:4 mean?
Job is in such raw pain that he's cursing the day he was born, wishing it had never existed or been noticed by anyone, even God. He's not being poetic here—he's expressing the depth of his suffering through the only language that feels honest. When we read this, we're encountering someone at absolute bottom, where even existence itself feels like a mistake. What's striking is that the Bible lets Job say this. There's no immediate correction, no cheerful reframing. His despair is met with space to be real.
