Job 22:26
βFor then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and shall lift up your face to God.β
What does Job 22:26 mean?
When you come back to God with genuine trust, you'll discover a joy and freedom that runs deeper than your circumstances. "Lifting up your face" is an image of someone who's no longer hanging their head in shame or despair, but is able to look toward God with hope again. Eliphaz, who speaks these words to Job, is saying that reconciliation with God brings the kind of contentment that nothing else can offer, even when life remains difficult. It's a promise that drawing near to God in your heart transforms how you carry yourself and see what's possible.
