What does Job 20:10 mean?
When Job's friend Zophar speaks these words, he's describing how the wicked person's gains will eventually slip away, and their children will find themselves in need, forced to beg from those they once looked down on. It's a vivid picture of karma or divine justice: what you've built through cruelty and greed won't stay in your hands or pass securely to your family. This reflects an ancient belief that wrongdoing naturally produces consequences that circle back, often affecting not just the wrongdoer but their descendants.
