What does Job 16:17 mean?

Job is defending himself in the midst of overwhelming suffering, insisting that he hasn't done anything to deserve the pain he's experiencing. He's saying his hands are clean, his motives are genuine, and he's genuinely seeking God through prayer, yet everything has fallen apart anyway. This matters because it captures the raw honesty of someone questioning why bad things happen to good people, which is something many of us wrestle with in our own dark seasons. Job isn't pretending to have all the answers, but he is holding onto his integrity and his relationship with God even when it feels like God has abandoned him.
