What does Job 15:12 mean?

Eliphaz is confronting Job about what he sees as stubborn pride, suggesting that Job's emotions are overtaking his reason. The flashing eyes and carried-away heart were understood in ancient times as signs of someone consumed by anger or defensive self-righteousness. What Eliphaz is really saying is: "Why are you so worked up? Why can't you step back and see this situation more clearly?" It's worth noting that Eliphaz means this as correction, though Job would rightfully push back on the assumption that his distress over his suffering is merely pride rather than genuine pain.
