Job 11:20
βBut the eyes of the wicked shall fail. They shall have no way to flee. Their hope shall be the giving up of the spirit.ββ
What does Job 11:20 mean?
When we turn away from God and live only for ourselves, we gradually lose our ability to see truth and find real solutions to our problems. The writer here is saying that those who refuse to turn toward God end up spiritually blind, trapped without escape, and their only remaining "hope" becomes surrendering to despair and death. This isn't meant as a threat, but as a sober observation about what happens when we cut ourselves off from the source of life and healing. Even in the hardest seasons, there's always a way forward when we're willing to seek God's help, but refusing that help leaves us with nowhere to turn.
