What does Job 11:14 mean?
Zophar is offering Job a straightforward path forward: release whatever wrongdoing you're holding onto, and don't let it take root in your life or home. He's speaking from the belief that sin creates distance between us and God, so the solution is to actively let it go. The imagery here is physical and practical, which makes it stick with us. "In your hand" suggests something we're gripping, something we possess and control, while "in your tents" means the everyday spaces where we live and belong. Zophar is saying that unrighteousness doesn't just disappear on its own, like we need to consciously release our grip on it and prevent it from settling in.
