Jeremiah 5:4
“Then I said, “Surely these are poor. They are foolish; for they don’t know the way of Yahweh, nor the law of their God.”
What does Jeremiah 5:4 mean?
Jeremiah is observing people who seem trapped in poverty and poor choices, and he assumes their problem must be ignorance. If only they knew God's ways and laws, he reasons, surely they'd do better. But this reflects Jeremiah's own incomplete understanding at this moment in the prophecy.
