Jeremiah 49:9
“If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves came by night, wouldn’t they steal until they had enough?”
What does Jeremiah 49:9 mean?
God is telling the people of Edom that their destruction will be complete, unlike anything they've experienced before. When grape pickers harvest vineyards, they intentionally leave some fruit behind for the poor, and even thieves stealing at night will eventually stop once they've taken what they need.
