What does Jeremiah 38:19 mean?
King Zedekiah was trapped between two forces during Jerusalem's siege, and his fear had paralyzed him into inaction. He worried that if he surrendered to the Babylonians (Chaldeans), the Jewish deserters who had already switched sides would either harm him personally or humiliate him in front of his enemies.
