What does Jeremiah 37:4 mean?

During this tumultuous period in Jerusalem's history, Jeremiah still had the freedom to move around the city and speak to people. This was before his enemies managed to have him arrested, so he could go about his daily life and deliver God's messages directly to those who would listen. The simple fact of his freedom to walk and talk mattered greatly, because it meant his voice wasn't silenced yet. It's a poignant detail in his story: there was a window of time when the prophet could speak openly, before circumstances and opposition would eventually close in around him.
