“Fields will be bought in this land, about which you say, ‘It is desolate, without man or animal. It is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.’”
What does Jeremiah 32:43 mean?
Jeremiah speaks these words while Jerusalem is under siege, when everything looks hopeless and permanently destroyed. Yet God is telling him that people will actually buy and sell property again in this devastated land, which seems absurd given that enemy armies control everything.
