What does Jeremiah 30:23 mean?
God's anger against wrongdoing is sometimes described in the Bible using the image of a storm, and that's what we see here. The prophet Jeremiah is telling people that God's justice doesn't stay distant or theoretical, but moves toward the wicked with real force, the way a violent storm is impossible to ignore or escape. This doesn't mean God is petty or cruel. Rather, it's a way of saying that choices have consequences, and living in opposition to God's character eventually meets real resistance.
