Jeremiah 3:17

At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘Yahweh’s Throne;’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Yahweh’s name, to Jerusalem. They will no longer walk after the stubbornness of their evil heart.

What does Jeremiah 3:17 mean?

Jeremiah speaks here about a future time of restoration when God's presence will be so real and central that Jerusalem itself becomes known as God's throne on earth. Rather than people scattered and doing their own thing, all nations will gather around this place and this God, finally turning away from the stubborn, self-centered choices that had separated them from him. The beauty of this passage is that it's not about geographical location so much as spiritual reality. Jeremiah is painting a picture of what happens when people stop resisting God and instead orient their whole lives around him. It's an invitation, really, to that kind of homecoming—the moment when we quit fighting against what's true and good and let ourselves be drawn toward it instead.
