Jeremiah 26:20
“There was also a man who prophesied in Yahweh’s name, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.”
What does Jeremiah 26:20 mean?
Uriah was another prophet speaking God's word during Jeremiah's time, and he was saying the same hard truths that Jeremiah was proclaiming: that Jerusalem and Judah faced judgment. This verse shows that Jeremiah wasn't alone in his message, even though it may have felt that way when people rejected him. Sometimes when we're trying to speak truth or stand for what's right, it helps to remember that others have stood in similar places, that our voice isn't the only one calling out, and that God's message can work through more than one person.
