Jeremiah 23:5
““Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.”
What does Jeremiah 23:5 mean?
Jeremiah spoke these words to a people whose kings had become corrupt and unjust, causing widespread suffering. He promised them that God would send a future descendant of King David, someone perfectly righteous who would restore justice and wise leadership to the land. This was a deeply comforting message to those living under bad rulers, offering hope that God hadn't abandoned his promises.
