What does Jeremiah 23:16 mean?
Jeremiah was living in a time of spiritual confusion, when false prophets were telling people exactly what they wanted to hear, promising peace and safety when judgment was coming. God tells him to warn the people not to be fooled by these smooth-talking voices, because they're speaking from their own desires and imagination, not from God's actual word.
