Jeremiah 22:30
“Yahweh says, “Record this man as childless, a man who will not prosper in his days; for no more will a man of his offspring prosper, sitting on David’s throne, and ruling in Judah.””
What does Jeremiah 22:30 mean?
This passage speaks of King Jehoiachin, who was taken captive to Babylon after Jerusalem fell. The pronouncement sounds harsh, but it's rooted in his turning away from God and leading his people away from righteousness. Being "recorded as childless" didn't mean he had no biological descendants, but rather that none of them would inherit the throne or continue his royal line with power and blessing, the way David's line was meant to unfold.
