What does Jeremiah 17:5 mean?
When we put all our confidence in human strength and resources alone, we set ourselves up for disappointment and spiritual drift. Jeremiah is warning that trusting entirely in people, power, or what we can see and touch leaves us vulnerable because all of those things are temporary and limited. The real security comes from staying connected to God, who doesn't change and whose strength doesn't fail. This isn't about never relying on others or using practical wisdom, but rather about where we anchor our deepest trust and hope.
