Jeremiah 17:13
“Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be disappointed. Those who depart from me will be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahweh, the spring of living waters.”
What does Jeremiah 17:13 mean?
The prophet is describing what happens when people turn away from God, using the image of abandoning a spring of fresh water in the desert. When we walk away from our source of life and hope, we're left with nothing that truly sustains us, and eventually that emptiness catches up with us.
