“Have you utterly rejected Judah? Has your soul loathed Zion? Why have you struck us, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and behold, dismay!”
What does Jeremiah 14:19 mean?
Jeremiah is voicing the anguish of a people in crisis, asking God questions that come from deep pain rather than doubt. The prophet is essentially asking: "Have you abandoned us completely? Why do we keep suffering when we've hoped and prayed for relief?" This captures something very real about hardship, the way it can pile up until we wonder if God has turned away.
