“This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and have gone after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, will even be as this belt, which is profitable for nothing.”
What does Jeremiah 13:10 mean?
Jeremiah was a prophet called to warn people that turning away from God would lead to their undoing. Here he uses the image of a ruined belt to show what happens when we become stubborn and chase after things that can't actually satisfy us or help us. A belt that's fallen apart is useless, and that's what Jeremiah is saying becomes of people who refuse to listen, who dig in their heels against God's guidance, and who pour their energy into serving things that were never meant to be gods.
