Jeremiah 12:14
“Yahweh says, “Concerning all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.”
What does Jeremiah 12:14 mean?
Jeremiah spoke these words during a time when surrounding nations were constantly attacking Judah and threatening their survival. God is essentially promising that those neighbors who kept invading and harassing his people would face judgment and removal from their land. At the same time, there's something striking here: God says he'll pluck up Judah from among these nations too, suggesting a kind of separation or restoration rather than simple destruction. This reflects both God's protection of his people and the difficult reality that they too would experience exile and upheaval before restoration could come.
