What does Jeremiah 1:6 mean?

When God called Jeremiah to be a prophet, Jeremiah's first response was honest fear. He was young and felt completely unprepared for the enormous task of speaking God's message to a nation that wouldn't want to hear it. His words capture something true about all of us: when we're asked to do something that matters, our first instinct is often to list all the reasons we're not qualified. What makes this moment beautiful is that God didn't dismiss Jeremiah's worry or tell him to "just be confident." Instead, God met him in that vulnerability and promised to be with him, to put words in his mouth, and to make him strong. Sometimes our hesitation isn't a sign we've got the wrong calling; it's just the human response to being trusted with something real.
