What does James 2:25 mean?
Rahab was a woman living in Jericho whose story appears in Joshua. When Israelite spies came to her city, she hid them from authorities and helped them escape, risking her own safety for people she'd never met. James points to her here as proof that faith shows itself through what we actually do. This verse sits in a passage about how believing in God isn't just an internal feeling or agreement with facts, but something that naturally overflows into caring for others and taking risks for what's right. Rahab didn't have the benefit of years of religious teaching or community, yet her actions revealed a trust in God that ran deep enough to move her to courage.
