James 1:13
“Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.”
What does James 1:13 mean?
When you're struggling with something you know is wrong, it's natural to wonder where the pull is coming from. This verse tells us clearly: God is never the source of temptation toward evil. His character is so pure that evil can't even touch him or change what he wants for us. Instead, our temptations usually come from our own desires, from the world around us, or from spiritual forces opposed to God, but never from him. Understanding this matters because it means when you're battling something destructive, you're not fighting against God's will for you, you're fighting *with* God's help against something that pulls you away from him.
