Isaiah 9:5
“For all the armor of the armed man in the noisy battle, and the garments rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.”
What does Isaiah 9:5 mean?
Isaiah is painting a picture of God's ultimate peace breaking into a world of endless warfare. When that peace comes, all the weapons and bloodstained gear of soldiers will become worthless, burned as fuel like so much rubbish. It's a way of saying that in God's kingdom, the machinery of violence and death will be completely dismantled and forgotten.
