Isaiah 65:7
“your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together”, says Yahweh, “who have burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed me on the hills. Therefore I will first measure their work into their bosom.””
What does Isaiah 65:7 mean?
This passage reflects God's response to a people who have turned away from Him through idolatry and disrespect, practices their ancestors also embraced. The mention of burning incense on mountains and hills refers to worship at unauthorized shrines instead of the temple, which represented a deliberate rejection of God's instructions.
