Isaiah 65:19
“I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; and the voice of weeping and the voice of crying will be heard in her no more.”
What does Isaiah 65:19 mean?
God is painting a picture of profound restoration where pain finally stops echoing through the world. After all the suffering described in earlier chapters, this promise says that weeping and crying won't just decrease or be managed, but will be completely absent, replaced instead by God's own joy and delight in his people. This comes near the end of Isaiah, where the prophet describes a future renewal of all things. The image of Jerusalem here represents not just a city but God's restored relationship with his people, a place where the deep human sorrows that have defined so much of history are finally, permanently healed.
