What does Isaiah 6:8 mean?
Isaiah had just experienced a profound vision of God in the temple, surrounded by heavenly beings and overwhelmed by his own unworthiness. In that moment of awe and humility, God asked an open question, not demanding but inviting: who will carry my message to the people? Isaiah's response came from a heart that had been genuinely touched, not from obligation or performance. He simply said yes, without conditions or knowing what the assignment would cost him. This verse speaks to something many of us long for: the chance to matter, to be part of something bigger than ourselves. It shows us that God doesn't conscript reluctant servants but invites willing ones. Whether your "sending" is dramatic or quiet, public or private, in your family or workplace or community, the same open invitation stands. The question isn't whether you're qualified or perfect, but whether you're willing to respond.
