What does Isaiah 58:10 mean?
When you give generously to those who are hungry (whether for food, attention, or help) and truly care for people who are suffering, something shifts in your own life. The verse promises that your inner light, your sense of purpose and peace, will grow stronger even when you're walking through dark times. That darkness doesn't disappear, but your light shines so brightly within it that the shadows seem to fade like they do at midday when the sun is strongest. There's a beautiful paradox here: pouring yourself out for others actually fills you. When we step outside our own struggles to meet someone else's need, we often find that our burdens feel lighter and our hope feels realer. It's not a transaction where God rewards you for being good, but rather the natural result of connecting with others and discovering meaning beyond your own pain.
