Isaiah 54:6
“For Yahweh has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off,” says your God.”
What does Isaiah 54:6 mean?
God is speaking here to the people of Israel during their exile, when they felt abandoned and broken. The image of a forsaken wife captures that raw pain: rejected, cast aside, seemingly worthless. But God isn't describing this to condemn them; he's acknowledging their deepest hurt with tenderness, the way someone might say to a hurting friend, "I see how much this has wounded you."
