Isaiah 51:6
“Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens will vanish away like smoke, and the earth will wear out like a garment; and its inhabitants will die in the same way: but my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will not be abolished.”
What does Isaiah 51:6 mean?
Isaiah speaks to people living under foreign rule, reminding them that earthly powers and kingdoms, no matter how overwhelming they seem right now, are temporary. Everything physical—even the sky and earth—will eventually fade and deteriorate like worn-out cloth, and everyone will eventually die.
