What does Isaiah 49:3 mean?

God is speaking to Israel as a whole, calling the nation his servant and saying that his glory will shine through them. The deeper promise here is that Israel's purpose isn't just to exist for its own sake, but to reveal something true about God to the world. Even when Israel struggles or feels forgotten, God is saying their identity matters and their presence has meaning in his larger story. This kind of calling shows us that God often invites people and communities to be part of something bigger than themselves, and our ordinary lives can reflect his character when we're willing to serve.
