What does Isaiah 46:12 mean?

Isaiah calls out to people who have hardened themselves against God's message, people who know they're drifting from what's right but keep walking away anyway. The prophet isn't condemning them with hopelessness, though, he's actually inviting them to listen, which means there's still a chance to turn around. Sometimes we recognize ourselves in this description, especially when we've been ignoring a quiet inner voice telling us something needs to change. The invitation stands: God is still speaking, and this stubborn-hearted person he's addressing can still hear and respond.
