Isaiah 45:23
“I have sworn by myself. The word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and will not be revoked, that to me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath.”
What does Isaiah 45:23 mean?
God is making an unbreakable promise here, speaking with absolute authority about the future. When Isaiah describes God swearing "by myself," it means God is binding himself to this word, since there's nothing greater than God to swear by. The promise itself is that eventually all people, everywhere, will acknowledge God's authority and reality, whether willingly or not.
