Isaiah 44:5

One will say, ‘I am Yahweh’s;’ and another will be called by the name of Jacob; and another will write with his hand ‘to Yahweh,’ and honor the name of Israel.”

What does Isaiah 44:5 mean?

People from all different backgrounds will claim their identity as God's own, each in their own way. Some will openly declare their allegiance, others will take on the heritage of Jacob's people, and still others will publicly mark themselves as belonging to the Lord, whether through writing their commitment or speaking it aloud. The point is that God welcomes people into his family from every direction, and they'll express that belonging however feels most real to them, whether boldly or quietly, traditionally or creatively. What matters isn't the method but the genuine desire to be known as his.
