What does Isaiah 44:25 mean?
God here is declaring his power over those who claim to know the future through false means: fortune tellers, astrologers, and those who pretend to hidden wisdom. When people rely on lies instead of truth, their confidence eventually crumbles, and what seemed so clever reveals itself as foolish. Isaiah is reminding people in exile that no human scheme or occult practice can ultimately stand against God's real authority over history. This is meant as comfort to those tempted to trust in false sources of guidance, assuring them that only God's true word deserves their confidence.
