“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins.”
What does Isaiah 43:25 mean?
God is making a stunning promise here: he actively erases our wrongdoing, not because we've earned it or because we're inherently worthy, but because of who he is and his own purposes. The phrase "for my own sake" might sound self-centered at first, but it actually means God's character and his commitment to relationship are what drive his forgiveness, not our performance or our ability to pay him back. That second sentence hits even deeper: "I will not remember your sins" doesn't mean God has a faulty memory.
