What does Isaiah 3:22 mean?

This verse is part of Isaiah's description of the luxurious possessions the wealthy women of Jerusalem treasured, right before God warns that all these things will be stripped away. The prophet is painting a picture of a society so focused on outward appearance and material comfort that they've lost sight of what truly matters. It's a sobering reminder that no amount of fine clothing or wealth can protect us when we've drifted from what's right and good. For many of us today, this speaks to how easy it is to get caught up in accumulating things and curating an image, when the deepest security comes from a different source entirely.
