Isaiah 2:15

What does Isaiah 2:15 mean?
This verse is part of Isaiah's prophecy about a future day when God's power and majesty will be revealed so completely that human pride and self-sufficiency will crumble. He's painting a picture of everything humanity has built to feel secure, impressive, or independent, and declaring that none of it will stand against God's purposes. The "lofty towers" and "fortified walls" represent not just physical structures, but the human tendency to trust in our own strength and accomplishments rather than in God. Whether it's military fortifications, economic power, or personal achievement, Isaiah is saying these things won't ultimately protect us or define us. There's both a warning in this (don't place your ultimate trust in what you build), and a comfort (your security doesn't depend on your own strength or status).
