What does Isaiah 19:25 mean?
This beautiful vision shows God's heart extending blessing far beyond one nation. Egypt and Assyria were Israel's ancient rivals and oppressors, yet here God calls them "my people" and "the work of my hands" alongside Israel. It's a radical declaration that God's love and purposes aren't limited to a chosen few, but span across all the peoples of the earth. The prophet is inviting exiled or discouraged Israelites to imagine a future where old enemies stand together as God's blessed family. This would have been almost shocking to hear: your oppressors aren't God's enemies forever, but are also claimed as His own.
