Isaiah 1:6
“From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven’t been closed, neither bandaged, neither soothed with oil.”
What does Isaiah 1:6 mean?
This passage uses the image of a badly injured body to describe the spiritual and moral condition of Judah at a time when the people had turned away from God's ways. The prophet Isaiah is saying that their problems run deep—from the smallest part to the greatest—and nothing has been done to heal them or make things right. The picture of untended wounds that haven't even been cleaned or cared for suggests both the severity of the damage and a kind of neglect, as if no one is taking responsibility for restoration.
