Isaiah 1:15
“When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.”
What does Isaiah 1:15 mean?
God is saying that prayers spoken with unrepentant hands are prayers He cannot answer. The image of hands "full of blood" represents violence, injustice, and harm done to others, not necessarily literal bloodshed but any cruelty or wrongdoing. When people come to God asking for help or blessing while actively hurting those around them, they're asking Him to bless what He opposes, and that's something He won't do. This isn't God being distant or harsh for no reason. It's more like the natural consequence of trying to have a relationship with someone while ignoring their deepest values.
