What does Hosea 5:15 mean?
God is describing a season of withdrawal, like a parent stepping back to let consequences teach what words cannot. He's saying he'll create space and distance until the people recognize what they've done wrong and genuinely turn back toward him, not out of habit or surface-level religion, but with real longing. The hard truth here is that sometimes God allows painful seasons to happen precisely so we'll wake up and seek him with our whole heart, rather than taking his presence for granted. This isn't punishment for punishment's sake, but an invitation: the affliction itself becomes the thing that drives us to honestly acknowledge our need for him.
