What does Hosea 4:16 mean?
When people consistently refuse to listen or change course, even warnings and gentle correction stop working. Hosea compares Israel's stubborn rebellion to a heifer that won't be led, and the image shifts to show the consequence: God can no longer provide the tender care of feeding a lamb in a peaceful meadow. It's less about punishment and more about the natural result of rejecting help. When we harden ourselves against guidance, we close ourselves off from the nourishment and protection that come from staying connected to God.
